New to sps corals and this peach monti cap are my first attempts at sps. I have 4 peach and 1 orange monti cap. Have had all of them for about a week now and I notice no polyp extension since I have had them on my peach montis, the orange monti polyps are very visible and seem to be doing just fine. Could be I am blind and the white/peach just blends too well for me to see the polyps. All are in the same area of the tank and roughly the same height, mid tank aprox 10 inches from the lights. All are in a moderate flow area. Peach monti have brown algae that tries to grow on it, but i blow it off with turkey baster. I cant find any info on peach monti on the web so I am hoping someone here has had some experience with it. All tank parameters are in check as far as what I test for, I am just wondering if the polyps are different on peach monti vs orange monti.. Best i can tell is that the polyps on the peach monti are very thin, stringy and almost microscopic! Tried to take a picture, but my coolpix nikon s230 is far from great at small polyp close ups. Thanks for any help you can offer.

A bunch of ppl have read my post so I am gathering you all think I am an idiot or you have never heard of Peach Montipora Cap. It has been a couple days since my post, and the polyps are still not visible. I am thinking that the peach being same as the orange that the polyps should be the same or very similar. All were acclimated the same and like I said before the orange monti is fine and polyps are visible but the peach polyps are not. Will my peach monti eventually recover from the stress it has been through and start extending the polyps??

It's hard to say - two separate corals one may have been more stressed than the other. If you have the params are correct and other corals are doing well just be patient.

FWIW, I once had a Monti cap where it was really difficult to see the polyps for some reason. Were they clearer in the tank you saw them in before buying?

Thanks Andy, Ill try and be patient.. LOL what else can I do..

As far as the polyps being seen before I bought them, I dont know.. Ordered em from saltcritters.com. All other corals seem to be fine, acan lords doing well, orange monti doing well, blasto do fine too.. Just didnt see the polyps before hand so I have no comparison, the coral being white/peach doesnt really help to see white/peach polyps either.. Like I said before though, unless they are microscopic they arent there.. Doesnt seem like many ppl have had peach monti cap either, it is really stressing me out that I dont know what to do. Right now just mid tank and chilling to see if maybe they recover.
