Lighting

I have an old reef that is 10+ years old. I removed the lights many years ago so it's mostly down to a bunch of very nice live rock, sand and a few mushroom polyps, sponges etc. Anything that can survive low light. I'm thinking about adding light and again growing acros and such. The tank that the light will be over will be a 29 gallon tall. I have a huge sump and other tanks on the system for about 200 gallons total. It has been awhile since I have done any research on reef lighting and it seems things have changed a bit. Any suggestions? LED?

LEDs have come a long way but upfront cost is still an issue. I am assuming your tank is around 25" deep, a single MH would probably be just fine. I would consider a 250 wat 14k Pheonix if you truely want to go the acro route.

Thanks for the info. Not sure that I want to go that intense. Also, I want to keep this on the cheap side as this is a side project. I'm looking for a lighting system that will allow me to play around with frags of this and that, polyps, and etc....
