Zoa placement!

I have 2 Rasta Zoa frags and im unsure where to put them. I have a RedSea 170 43gal. I'm using an AI 32hd @ 57%. I see alot of people on Facebook and other forums putting them on the bottom when I do that they dont ever seem to open. If I put them about 1/3rd of the way up they open but I don't have much room for them to colonize.

They should be undemanding and adapt to pretty much anywhere you place from sand to like 1/2 way up water column unless that’s a very deep tank. I have a Red Sea 140 and rastas are fine somewhere around 6”up rock but have other zoas doing great on sand.
