what's up everybody... This is my first post here and I need ur help with my stater tank... I have a 8gl bio cube and a 10 pounds of live rock with intentions of having two clownfish and couple of soft corals... I wonder how should my cleaning crew look like and how big it should be to keep my tank in top condition... i do no have any water parameters yet to share with you guyz... Soon...

For an inch of sand you probably only need 20 nass. snails in a 24gal tank and depending on how much rock you have probably 30 hermits... But this is after you have the system going for at least 2 months... Before then hermits are eating the snails and then each other...lol...But people with deep sand beds can probably steer you in the right direction more than I can...

think ya miss read, he has an 8G tank, and I think 1" sandbed isnt really considered DSB.

Start out with two or three turbo snails, and a half dozen nassirus snails for your sand. I avoid adding any type of crab in my tanks. I find that sooner or later the hermit crabs kill of the snails for their shells.

You are the best cleaning crew. You control what goes into the tank and what equipment there is to keep it clean. The cleaning critters help in the cycle of things but they are only a small fraction of the picture.
2 clowns in 8 gallons, better be small clowns.
