Ever thought of using Flood lights?

hey everybody, i was just curious if anybody has thought about or tried using floodlights for reefs? i read somewhere online about a guy who uses a one like this one http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...=10000003+90401&marketID=401&locStoreNum=8125 on his ricca fluitans and it looks amazing. it could be a good diy project or something laddat. what do u guys think?

what wasn't the type of flood light he was talking about though, he was talking about the 500w halogen flood lamps for outdoor motion sensor usage.
Though i think the MH bulbs would do better i guess the initial cost would be much cheaper for flood lights.

THat is a regular quartz incandescent flood light. The spectrum is only about 3000K.
It is not suited for aquarium use unless it is a fish only set up.

Thanks for pointing me to the right page! Just in case anyone is interested I found a 65k version here for the same price http://www.1000bulbs.com/19-Watt-Weather-Proof-P38-Compact-Fluorescent-Light-Bulbs/32139/ it is also 85 watts
