I have a Neptune ACjr and it's been very hard to figure out the re-programing of it. I can't get the software to run on my computer, and customer service dosen't want to waste their time talking about it. I would not reccomend it unless you understand computer programing very well.

We recommend the ACIII -

- you can monitor and control remotely via internet (A+++ in my book)
- Interfaces with Tunzes (aquasurf module required)
-- those are two HUGE reasons to get the ACIII--

However, if you want an easy to understand controller that can handle your basic operations like master pump, light timers, wavemaker (not tunzes or similar), etc...

Then I would recommend the RK2

-It truly depends on what you want it to and how much you are willing to pay.

I have an RK2 and love it. Have not used the others so I cannot comment on them.

What are you trying to control or are you just looking for a general controller?

Thank you, I actually didn't make myself clear. I'm more looking for water conditions testing or control. I don't know if something good (digital) exists or at least more accurate than Red sea's Marine Lab test kit. Also would like to know what are the major parameters to watch. Something is slightly wrong with my water and I can't figure WHAT !!! I'll appreciate any :help:

I have an ACJr. that I use to monitor the tank and I really like it. I never thought that I'd need or use a controller but I gave this one a try and I'm very pleased with it.

If you've done or seen any programming before or know the jist of If Then statements, the AC language is pretty easy to pick up. Everything is stored in a nice old access database too, which I really liked (makes it easy for me to update a website).

ACjr vs ACIII

The ACjr Cannot run

Lunar Stimulator
Aquasurf Module (aka Tunze controller)
Multiple Tanks
No Ethernet capabilities

Of course, as stated earlier, it really depends on what you want it do, but from what I have read of the thread, Evik is not looking for a "controller," but more of digital monitoring/controlling equipment for general params such alk/ca/mg.

Lunar Simulator - I never tried one, don't believe I need to get that sophisticated with moon lights. But Neptune's website says otherwise

Aquasurf Module (aka Tunze controller) - Not true, I helped set one up few months ago with the Acjr.

Multiple Tanks - You should go with a ACIIIP if you have the money for mutiple tanks.

No Ethernet capabilities - This is the part I think all controller should have, but price increase would drive too many people out of the range.
