im helping a friend fix his badly damaged tank ... by damaged i mean disgusting lol..... he has been listenin to all the wrong people so ive been helping him get his tank back in order but he has these red rocks they look basically like live rock but are a burgundy red .... does any 1 know if these are reef safe....b4 i put anything living back in his tank i want to make sure wether or not to leave these rocks in.... thanks in advance

no i was at his house late last night but didnt have a camera.... i will get some today though.... just throwin it out there i dont kno much about freshwater maybe freshwater rocks? .... but i will post pics tonight hopefully get some help thanks :fett:

they could be lava rock
freshwater rocks are fine in saltwater(as long as they are clean) but they usually won't have any buffering agent in them. Therefore you may run into p.h. and/or alk problems.

chong - na no coraline or redslime there just a burgundy ..... cheif could be from petco because he told me he goes there and listens to them i wanted to die when i heard that.... as for lava rock maybe ...im gonna take pics just to make sure dont wanna waste money or rock for no reason.... if it is lava rock should i take it out? thanks guys i appreciate this
