Geez, you waited two months after your cycle to put livestock in? You need live stock in right after your cycle to keep the bacteria alive. They feed on ammonia not other people's bad advice.

I did the shrimp thing! did not want to kill living things or stress them.
Plus i got some great live rock from Sea LIfe Inc uncured. (That had plenty of die off!) It took a while to totally cycle out.Since i waited all the mushroom and plants came back.
I do have patience!

I thought you left your tank alone for two months after the cycle was over. If you had been feeding it shrimp then that's different.

i dont understand...you say your only new to nano tanks...and not a newbie...but yet you didnt even know to top off with r/o and still used saltwater...and you do not need to add livestock right after the cycle....theres detritus from the rocks that will feed your bateria anyways.
