Purchasing 3 crocea clams today. I was wondering what is the best way to acclimate them is? I usually do a slow drip for my fish for about 45-60 minutes. Also placement? Low or mid tank. I have a 105 gal 5 foot tank 18inchs deep with a 1 inch sand bed, two 250 watt MH lights and 260 watt of actinic in a 4 foot fixture centered 6 inchs above the tank. 120lbs of LR. Also right now im running the actinic for 12 hours and the MH for 6 hours.

Your questions border on: "If you have to ask, you're not ready."

However, acclimation time will depend on how different their water is from your parameters and how long they've been "bagged". Same with lighting. If they were under PC lighting, your halides will surely shock/stress them out, so a bottom placement will be called for.

i do the same just leave them in the bag for about 30 min and drop them in lol. but croceas will want something to attach to. so best on a rock or put a shell under the clam and cover the shell with sand...

Clam Lover here.

Temp acclimate them in the Bag, is all you will need and if you want to be safe you can drip. At first keep them away from direct flow or you will see them spin around till they find better placement.
The bottom of your tank is probably best for them.
I 've kept a clam well for quite a while now I've never fed them directly because of their size and I have followed James Fatheree's advice and Just feed them plenty of light and feed your fish enough food as the waste of your fish will serve as the clams nutrition but depending on what size clams they made need some suplemental nutrition like direct feeding in smaller clams until they reach a good size.
