to skim or not

i want to know if i should keep the skimmer on 24/7 i've heard it will take up all the good stuff or leave it on for only a few hours a day. does it really mater.

yes skimming is much more beneficial than harmful.

i shut off my skimmer for the night, just because remora pro is soooo noisy! but i would skim 24/7 if i could...

You are going to hear lots in this hobby. You have to determine who has the knowledge and experience worth following. Have you seen any study that shows that skimming removes 'good stuff'. Just look at the cup of any good skimmer and you know it is removing bad stuff. So do more reading and make a decision.
