Yes, it sucks, but while you have it, it can do some work while you save up for a better skimmer. Use the strongest pump you can, and keep the venturi tube clean at all times...salt builds up quickly in the tube, blocking off air. You may have to unclog it several times a week. Recalibrate every time, slowly opening the valve from closed. yes, its a bad skimmer, but on a small tank its better than none.

make sure the airline isnt clogged....i assume you bought another mj1200?
i rarely hear those pumps being bad but it could be possible...take the pump out and test it in some saltwater(when you do a water change)..clean the venturi also and see how it does...google mesh mod impeller and learn to put some mesh on the maxijet with some fishing line...it makes a difference in bubble production

10 gal is probably the most appropriate use for a seaclone...should actually be just about right for it...just keep that venturi tube open...the salt builds up very fast.
