Can laguna pond pumps be used in saltwater tanks?

friend of mine owns a few buildings. whenever someone leaves behind fish equipment he gives it to me. gave me a few pond pumps, a max flo and a power jet both by laguna. website says for freshwater ponds only but wondering if anyone has expierence with these pumps and can they be used in sump. thanks in advance steve

laguna motor blocks are the basis for many of the Red Dragon and Flowstar pumps out there. i think if you swap out the screws for stainless steel, you should be good to go
