Posting Pictures

I want to post some pictures in my own photo gallery and under my post when I want to sell or trade. Im using a canon t1i and the size is way to large. How do I shrink the size so it can fit the specifications needed?

u can resize them with any photoshop software, i.e. irfanview,...etc
