I have a leaf plate coral that has been doing quite well and growing nicely. It's growing so well that it started touching an acan. Now I noticed that the edge of the leaf that is touching is turning white.

I'm assuming that the acan is effecting the leaf, killing part of it. Does this make sense? If that is the case then I'll just move it away. If I do move it would there be any reason to cut off the white part or do I see how it does post move?

Thanks!

That article is great. I have noticed these clear "strings" ( now I assume they are tentacles ) that come out the acan sometimes. It happens after a water change when I use a turkey baster to clean detritus off of the rock work and the tank gets cloudy. Also, due to a hermit knocking into the leaf, it has been tipping over against the acan.
