when does stuff go bad?

Started a new tank and I have alot of stuff left over from my old tank 2 years ago. I have boxes of salt but the salt is hard, is it still good? Also i have strontium and iodine and a whole bunch of coral foods like zoomax etc and wanted to know if they go bad after a while?

i would still use the salt....

The salt is about the only thing I would trust, and I would thoroughly test the water once the salt has dissolved.

yea my tank is salted enuff rite now so i dont need to use the other salt til a water change in a couple weeks once i start cycling so if i find something wrong then i have enough time for a backup plan
