Quick question, is the Alk test the same as KH test? and if not what is this test good for? Thanks

Thanks JimmyR1rider, what is normal reading for a reef tank mixed softies, lps, and sps? How does the use of a CA reactor affect the Alk reading in the tank?

aim for:
ca is 450
dKH is 10
mg is 1380

the secret is keeping them consistent.
with softies, theres a lot more wiggle room than sps.

the main purpose of a ca reactor is to boost and maintain the levels of ca in the tank. however since co2 is use to accomplish this, it can greatly increase or decease the alk.
read up on ca reactor and before getting one. nice acticle here
