10g sump/fuge?

Is a 10 gallon sump/fuge big enough for a 55 gallon tank granted that there will be enough space in the sump so it wont overflow with the power off

If u can fit a bigger tank would be better.can use a 10gal a lil 2 small imo

I could fit a 15 gallon but that would reguire me to cut my stand and i dont want to do that

What kind of stand is it?

not sure the make but its made out of what looks like mdf and i dont want to compromise the strength and if i get a 15 gal the sump will stick out of the back of the stand about 2 inches

i would try to go larger than a 10 gallon tank as stated above, maybe you could acquire something custom made? what are the measurements available in your stand?

20 long is to wide ive already looked into all of the tank available, 10 gallon is the only one that fits width wise, and it doesnt make sense to buy anything custom for over $100 for maybe another 2-3 gallons at max when i can retro fit a 10 gallon wet/dry i used on my cichlid tanks for free

I need something thats no more then 10 1/2 wide the 10 fits perfect and according to the other 2 tanks that are 10 1/2 wide the 15 high and 20 high which would be 18" tall and 23" tall both of which are to tall for me to get in there and do maintenance

Use 2 10 gallon tanks connect with bulkheads or overflow tubes.
I think 10 g is too little. Could barely keep up with evaporation.

I figured out a way to use a 5.5 gallon as a fuge and a 15 as a sump with a skimmer and return pump seems to be working out pretty well so far

I did manage to plan out a 10g with space for a skimmer/ fuge and return but it wasnt very larger which made me re think the 15 gal idea
