why do snails...

lol why do snails like shake there body? i don't know how to explain it but my snails occasionally shake there shell and it makes a grinding noise on the glass lol.. what are they doing?

they are doing the snail mating dance. They usually do this when they are happy in the tank.


Where did you see this mr rocks or should I say hear this, maby it was stuck. This is all in serious ness intresting

they do it every single night in my tank - it wakes me up [tanks next to my bed] , they are on the glass every time i hear the noise and when i turn on the lights they are shaking lol

why the hell do snail squirt water outta the tank!? scares the shyt outta me sometimes cause i dont expect it!

aznt i have 3 hermits in the tank and they stay on the floor never near the snails on the glass doing this shake ! lol

Are they always in the same place on the glass when they do this?

Wondering if it could be some turbulence in the water causing the shell to resonate.

ORrrrrr.
theres a powerhead pointing at it, and the shell is hitting the glass.
Ive had this happen.
pretty annoying.

happens to ceriths alot.
astreas not so much.

no they are clearly out of current and definitely doing it on purpose for multiple lengths of time lol. i notice they do it on the rocks and on the glass, i can even hear the grind when they do it on the glass. its hilarious looking lol. i have a ton of snails. some trouchus,margaritas and turbos. prob like 15 or so
