Alan, you can keep softies and LPS like Torch or Frogspawn. Some hardy SPS high in tank. You may find that the more colorful SPS will brown under that light. I would stay away from Acros.

New Lights

Hi, I just purchased a light 2-250/W MH 2-65/W
PC atinics for my 58Gal reef tank.
Every thing is good except for toad stool, kenya tree, and
Frog spawn. They closed up
And toad stool has wilted. Can someone help
Out. The old light was 150 mh & 2-24w pc atinics

I think your baking them with that light. How deep is your tank?

so what do you advise me too do, besides buy a new light.

raise lights, put up screening & acclimate lights slower?

I don"t want to lose anything else.

thanks

darock, you can do both of those things. Raise the light up and/or put window screening (a number of layers).. gradually remove one layer at a time until the corals are acclimated. You can also shorten the photoperiod.

This also gives you an opportunity to buy higher Kelvin bulbs (like 20,000K if you want)
