Is this for our tanks, or only alone in a species setup?

From what I've learned the bioluminescent algae will not survive in a common reef tank due to the filtration (protein skimmer) and lack of nutrients. Adding nutrients to the tank for the glow algae will also feed/increase the growth of all other types of algae.
