Welcome to MR Jenpo!

I have never had a problem with either of my LTA with fish, or starfish. Can't say about shrimps as I don't keep shrimps in my anemone tank due to fear of my eels eating them.
Fish in my tank are clowns, dwarf angel, wrasse, and eels.
Starfish are chocolate chip starfish.

Have you checked your parameters?

hi! my parameters are 8 month old tank, spgrav 1.001, temp 76ish, no ammonia or nitrite, iodine is 0.11 ca 400, i need to get an alk test kit and ph test kit. ran out! but last checked a week ago was ph was 8. My LTA is vibrant green/brown and its base is bright orange. it also closes up and opens up every couple of hours, is not that sticky. but ive never touched one before HAHA. i feed it silver sides once a week, the tank zoo plankton every 3 days, purple up once a day, brine shrimp 2-3x a day. oh and i have some turbo snails and a snail that has a snorkle. Oh and do you think coral rx is good to use?

I'm guessing you made a typo with your specific gravity. I would keep the specific gravity around 1.025
As for the shrimp, they are typically fine with anemones. I'd be only concerned with slow moving fish such as sea horses because they are slow and try to grab onto things, but you didn't things like that. Feeding brine 2-3x a day sounds like a lot. I'm not a fan of purple up because its their own mixture, where I rather dose what I need to get my parameters correct.

The guy at the store told me that he keeps the tank at a low SPgrav because parasites can't live in it. Do u think this is true? All my livestock seems to be doing well. I drip aclimate all new livestock ! Thanks for the help!

So is it really 1.001? Thats almost fresh water and I would not have it that low.
Fish only it okay to have it lower then a reef, but still wouldn't keep it 1.001
Once you start adding inverts such as shrimp, starfish, I would keep higher then Fish Only levels, and then once you start adding a LTA, its considered a reef since an anemone is a mushroom coral.
