the anemone will look for the place with the best flow And light it needs, wich is usually mid to high in the tank, just move all ur coral on the sand closer to the front glass and leave them there for like a week, this will give it enough time to settle, hopefully it truly does, just remember that any flow change, or light change it will move again so make sure that ur power heads are where u plan an leaving them FOREVER! lol or just move your coral again.

just got me a RBTA and this is what i did.

lol never mind cause this only really applies to the BTA really, u could make a frag stand and put them up higher in the tank... or just sit and watch it the whole time and shuffle ur coral accordingly.....

anenome's even after a year in one place will still move, had one stay put for a year to only walk the tank and end up 6" over from where it started,

Do u have other corals in your tank? If so I did you get around it not stinging and killing other corals?

I would

Say go for the LTA or a Haddons carpet or a Sebea(Brown colored only)

These anemones stay in the sand and most times will not venture up into the rock work.

Bubbletips and Magnificas and other carpets live in the rock work and may not be conducive to your tank.

Yes any anemone will walk but IMO most will stay in place as long as you dont change your rocks around or the flow directions.

Some info on these specific ones:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/macrodoreensis.htm

Unless you plan on dedicating a FOOT of space to it, it is the wrong coral for your tank.

IT will decide where it wants to live and could easily take out many of your corals in it's quest to decide where it is happiest...and it will reserve the right to change it's 'mind' and move about the tank whenever it wants to.
I have seen my anenomes move clear across the tank overnight (2' x 2' ANENOME tank..so I don't much care where they wander to...)

Perhaps a torch coral would fit the bill better for your tank? :)

Agree

Id have to agree with Kathy on this, that anemone looks very big.

As i said it will travel but it is mostly garunteed to stay in the sand, but they sometimes will inflate their foot and go for a swim.

I have a pretty small tank and what I do is isolate the anemone. Basically, give the anemone it's own "island" of LR. In my experience, it won't venture onto the sand (won't work if you have a bare bottom tank). Problem with this is, they tend to get stressed easier as they can't be where they want to be. Fortunately, mine seemed to like the spot I placed it although it did split initially probably due to stress.

Do you have clown fish Now? if not get a pair and try and see if they host your plate coral, I had clowns that would host into plate corals , So you never know.
