how long has the tank been running what are your parameters? what type of lighting are you using? what type of livestock do you have? and what type of filtration are you running? how often do you do water changes?

The Tank has been running for 3 months, when i bought it it was already established and running. My lighting is T5 lighting wavepoint, I have 2 clown fish, one hipo tang, one angel fish and one spanish mac. A couple of duncans, mushrooms, and one anemone, one sea urchin and a couple of snails , not sure how to check paramaters all i have is a PH tester that reads 8.37.I do a water change every week approx 2-3 gallons. I have one korilia fan, and the filter is just the filter that comes with the nano i guess. The fish are doing really well. Also I get alot of purple on my sand where you cant even see the sand anymore. I dont have a skimmer or UV stabilizer or anything else.

well for one 3 of those fish shouldnt be in there, the angel, hippo and cuban fish, what skimmer ? and what water are you using to top off evaporated water ? you also have cyano which is from high nutrients, cut fish back and feeding and syphon the cyano off the sand, how long are lights on and how old are the bulbs ?
i dont think is purple algae on ur live sand and live rock from the pic i see is look more like red slime algae to me. or u can move u k fan lower a little bit to blow the sand to moveing a little. But do not blow the live sand flying around in ur aquarium.

Okay let's take it from the top.
A few issues:
1. I think you are referring to Cyano Bacteria on the sand... and if I'm not mistaken it looks like it covered your rock in the picture (really hard to tell). This means a few things... you're lighting cycle is too long, your phosphates and nitrates are too high, and there isn't enough water movement. Big combination.
2. The green algae you are referring to on the glass. This is also due to imbalance in water parameters in phosphates and nitrates. On top of that you might be running a spectrum off light not suitable for your reef. I like to keep things a little more actinic I find that in a tank that size, running 10,000k temp bulb makes the green algae grow faster.
But the main cause reading your response is the block of frozen mysis you are feeding. Are you thawing it out and then rinsing it in a net and putting it in? If you feed mysis that often the green algae comes back really quickly.
3. I highly recommend you do a water change. Do it in phases and you want your store to show you results in terms of 0 nitrates 0 phosphates and make sure all that water is in check. Do a 6 gallon water change. Then a few days after do another 6.
4. After doing your water change, cut your lighting cycle for a little bit like an hour.
5. You are going to want to trade the Hippo Tang and the Angelfish as soon as you can with a reefer. It's going to do you more harm than good in a tank that size.

if you have some sort of hair algae in there get an algae eating invert...crabs or snails or both or even faster would be a seahare. if you have a cyano algae or redslime on the sand used a redslime remover and turn off your powerheads while you're dosing it for a few days or just power down the bubbles of your power head so it doesn't skim all of your water out. Then when the red slime is gone do some water change like 2 gallons everyday for your size tank to clean out the remaining chemicals. if you're still getting some algae growth after then dose some Magnesium daily until you reach 1500. that should help minimize the algae growth and when they're gone do another water change daily until your water parameters stabilize again to normal numbers including your magnesium.

I had a similar problem when I stated my tank. I solve it by moding the mid chamber as a fuge. You'll need to remove the filter in the mid chamber and replace it with rubble, then get some cheato. You'll also need a bulb, I use a coralife 13 Watt 65K bulb and works great.
