I am thinking of buying a C.A.D. Lighting 39G Pro Series (Pro X-1) and upgrading to the 120W High-Power LED pendant light (I love the look/efficiency/low heat/lifespan of LEDs). ANY THOUGHTS? Before anyone recommends the 50G, I should mention that the dimensions of the 39G are perfect for the spot I am going to be putting the tank. I would also be interested in any recommendations for controllers & dosers to go with this system. I have been away from the hobby for a while. I had fish only in the early to mid 80's. Then in the early to mid 90's I had 55G & 75G reefs for a while. Now I'm looking to get back into the hobby. Space is an issue & of course I'm looking for as little hassles as possible, so only as much DIY Mods as I have to. Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Welcome back. I defi wanted to go with the 39G and the 50G from CAD lights. They are great all in one packages, but the only thing holding me back was price. Not familiar with the LEDs, but there are some great vendors here that are pretty competative in pricing. The main thing I noticed people swapping out on the CAD lights tanks was the skimmers, but again, the "for sale" area here has plenty of deals to be had. I bought pretty much my whole set-up from other members on here.

i have a 39g cadlights that used to be set up in my office and is now down in storage while i figure out if i am going to bother using it again.

they are very well built tanks, but i really cant stand curved glass. it is a total pain to scrape coraline off, and mag-floats dont work so well on it either.

Thanks for letting me know about the tank jrobbins. Is your only complaint that the curved glass is hard to clean? The dimensions are really perfect for the spot it's going & the whole setup seems like a really nice package. If I have to give up using a Mag-Float & clean the glass the old fashioned way, I think I could live with that. If there's a bigger concern that I should be aware of, please let me know...thanks

P.S. I really enjoy your podcasts. Thanks for that as well.
