I just added my first corals last week and am looking to get them put into permanent positions so they can start expanding. This will be mainly an lps tank with some monti and some softies.

I have researched each species and placed them accordingly but I guess I'm just looking for some first hand feedback from those with experience.

As for my setup, this is a 50g tank with 4 39w T5s. An mp10 and a 1000+ koralia. I'm currently running the lights 11 hours on, 13 off.

In the fts you can kind of see the corals. Starting in the upper left gong counter clockwise I have a frogspawn, small zoa or paly colony, a blasto with 3 heads, a green/red favia frag and then some firecracker palys in the upper right.

Any suggestions or changes I should make? Thanks!!

Looking good :)

I would get the end of that favia out of the sandbed, not a good idea..move it up a little further. If you can possibly place it around that area so that it is laying a little more on the flat side, even better.

Is the MP10 turned on in the pic?? That frogspawn doesn't look like the flow is affecting it at all. Hard to tell from the pic what the distance is between it & the Vortech.

Thank you!

Yeah the favia kept getting pushed down that rock by my snails. I'm going to glue it there up on the rock or move it up higher to a more flat surface like itsanything suggests.

Any more suggestions?

Can you clear up that question about why the frogspawn doesn't look like the flow from the Vortech is hitting it please? :)

It all looks great! What else do you plan on adding to the tank?

The Vortech is about 5 inches away for the frogspawn but I think because of the positioning there is not that much flow hitting it. I run my mp10 constant all day with my koralia coming on and off throughout the day on a timer. The picture might have been taken with the koralia was off. When both ph are on the tentacles are lightly waving all about and I think hes happy in this spot.
