so anyways just 30 mins ago i tried to observe these little critters on my wall which somone believed to be flatworms but i dont think they were.... anways i tried to see how they look sticking on the glass of the back part of the tank and i moved the filter to the right when all of a sudden the bottom part of my aqueaon filter pops off!!! so i had to wash my hands and put it back and i also took those little critters out and threw em in the trash just incase they were flatworms and were to start multiplying... my main concern was that the soap on my hands that i made sure i washed completely off still did some damage to my tank....i had burt's bees chap stick on my lips and smelled my hand which my hand touched... im afraid that my hand was not totally clean because my fish tank does not look very clear .... a little stagnant at the top also... maybe it's because it's almost done cycling?? idk.... or maybe cause the filter part fell off and created a haze of debree...i just dont want anything to go wrong because it's only 10 gallons and anything can go wrong.... when i smelled my hand i really didnt smell any soap except for the chap stick i had on that touched my hands a little.... i forgot to wash my hand again and put my hands in the tank to put the filter back!! im so mad at myself...:irked:

While you want to do the best to rinse off your hands before putting them in the tank - and preferrably wear gloves - no sense in making yourself nuts and rinsing them like you were going to do surgery either ;)

It's probably fine and since you are still cycling can we assume you don't have any creatures that you have added to the tank yet?

dont worry bro..ive washed my hands many many times before putting my hands in the tank..mainly because after i eat..i wash my hands..with soap...then notice something fell or somethings moved inside the tank..so i usually dont think twice and just reach right in..my tank has been up for over 2 years and nothing ever happened..*knocks on wood*
