hey guys.. so u probably know i posted a few threads bout my tank overheating. i was thinking of returning my petco 20- 40 gallon powerhead which is use for my 10 gallon nano.. the poweread heats my tank up to around 84 - 85 degrees f. It was only 15 bucks. I currently also have an aqueon filter which sucks in 100gph. is that good enough for soft corals? my powerhead does 160gph. if i keep it i have 260 gph in my tank. without it only 100pgh... i plan on keeping softies, and frogspawn for sure... should i take it out or try to cool down my tank? i took of the top of my aqueon filter so when the water gets sucked it goes through the filter chamber and the water has contac with air...if u have an aqueon filter u should know what im talking about.. the loittle black top u can remove from the filter...i do think the power head will be good in the winter cause my house does get pretty cold...

small tanks are very tough imo.the parmeters are hard to keep in check and it will be difficult especially if you are using a cannister filter.and the temp in the summer will be hard to keep at 79 to 80 you will prob need a chiller or keep it in a ac room.if you dont have either you will have to think about 1 or the other.a thermometer in the room you have the tank is a must.once the temp in the room gets to be around 78 and over .you will need to monitor the tanks temp carefully
