effetcs of dechlorinator?

can adding dechlorinator in a tank with ro water have any effect on the cycle? can it have any effects at all not relating to the cycle?? or is it harmless?

No it will not affect the cycle, nor harm the tank but as I told you in the other thread, you should never need any as none of the water we add should be coming from the tap so chlorine should not be an issue.
I do believe it might make a skimmer go a little nits, but I don't recall your having one on your tank.

thanks kathy =) just a lil confused lol... check out my progress so far... it's on a thread.. adding cuc today... at 3 weeks and days... if water is just rite i will add... buying test kit also...

What is the name of your dechlorinator as all are not the same. For example, Prime and Amquel often called dechlorinators are really dechloriminators, which can alter a cycle.
