Just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts regarding whether older fish or younger fish were more prone to disease in the tank. I understand that numerous factors can cause diseases and there probably isn't a "right" answer but from your experience which have you had better luck with?

it depends how young and the type of fish....ime juvaniles are better at adjusting then adults....most fish are wild caught so it makes sense. almost all my fish were bought quite young 3" for the tangs, and 2" on the angels.

I think we are answering several different questions.

Newly imported juveniles of most species tend to fair better than newly caught adults and generally are more adaptable and resistant to disease.

Once successfully acclimated to captive life, the fishes age makes little difference in its survivability., but a healthy fish that has already adapted to captivity is certainly more disease resistant than a newly caught fish of any age.
