hello members wanted to ask if anyone knows or has experienced black sponge before i have it growin in my tank but not sure if it is beneficial to my tank wanted some feed back on this matter ps i also jus added a new thread on the nano tanks stop by and lmk what u think 'FREE PLUG'

Since sponges are filter feeders (meaning they eat strictly from the water column), it isn't necessarily good to have TOO many sponges in a tank. That often means there is an excess of nutrients in the water.

Having some sponges (within reasonable numbers) is fine and they are the sign of a healthy tank. :)

There are somes types of sponges that can be invasive that you might find come in on new live rock, so one should keep their eye out for any sponge that seems to grow overly quickly.

yea I think I'm gonna keep the sponge for now was at a local lfs redsand today and saw he had blue sponge for sale almost bought it real brite blue
