So I have been doing this for a little while now and have come a long way. Today though I feel like packing it up. I just inspected the tank and saw that my blue spot jawfish was out in the open (something it never does). One of its eyes are cloudy and swollen and the last quarter of its tail is abraded as if from injury. I have 1 dead snail and my decorator spider crab is dead. WTF happened???? Did they fight????? The blue spot jawfish is insanely fast, I would never expect anyone to compete with it. I am afraid he wont make it either. Really disturbed by this. Not so much by the snail or crab but the jawfish is a great little guy. Is there anything I can do???

I'd like to thank everyone for the replies. I took the fish out of its misery, he was not going to mend and I certainly did not want to leave him to the hermit crabs. That was a very special fish, I will not be getting another.

I had a similar occurrence in my tank with my BSJF I could not figure out who he was fighting with. I had all the same fish for 7 months with no problem. I separated him, but he passed away about 10 days later in the QT. Sorry for your loss, I feel your pain.

wow that was smart :irked:....it would have gotten over it in a few weeks, so You killed it, not its injuries. i had a goby that got its head stuck in mush, my hippo tang took advantage of this situation by eating all its fins (to stumps) so that the goby was basically a snake.....1 month later its back to being 100% normal.
