I have kept a very clean tank with 4 blue leg hermits and a set of zebra turbo snails

just talked to randy about it. i guess its not fish waste. it is brown diatom algae. thanks for all the responses everyone

it seems you just need your tank to mature a bit more. Don't worry, after awhile, most things seems to help prevent alot of other stuff.

i was just worried because i'm going out of town tomorrow and my friend is taking care of the tank. didn't want my water levels to go bad while i was away.

So let me understand this .
I should not stir my sand bed.
When I do all the dark nasty green sludge looking stuff is good for tank ??.
Or should I remove all this wast havent cleaned or vacumed for a long time.
