1st - I have a bubble tip anemone that has moved to the top right hand corner of my tank between the heater and the glass of the tank for like a week, but he seems to be doing good eating and all.. I tried putting ice on the out side of the glass to see if it move him but that hasn't worked :-/

2nd- I have my 4x54w current USA t5 with all the lights on ... Is this right?? Or should I just put on the actinic lights on before the daylight ones then turned them of ??

3rd- is there anyway I can change the LEDs on my light fixture to 1w LEDs ???
More questions to come soon lolz :)

question 1; nems go to where they receive the best light flow etc. it will move when its ready.

question 2; i usually have my atinics come on one hour before and stay on for 1 hour after my day lights.

You will be able to do nothing to make the nem go where you want it to. If you get him off the glass, guarantee within an hour or two- youll find him right where he is now, thats where he prefers the flow and light.

Your fixture is supposed to recreate an actual sun cycle of a day. Our sunlight doesnt pop up to the highest postion with the most light instantly- it gradually rises- thats the whole reason to do actinics and daylights.

The cycle of light that I do is my actinics go on at 3 pm then my halides come on at 4 then the halides go off at midnight. Then my actinics go off at 1 am.

That way I have 8 hours of daylight and 10 hours of actinic. When I had moonglows on the canopy I DIY'd my moonglows came on an hour before and went off an hour after my actinics since they had no real par values like the actinics or halides it was more for a look with the suttle blue LED's.

I'm not sure about the changing out your LED's but I myself wouldnt try to modify your fixture. It may be built for those in the fixture specifically and may not handle anything but whats in them??

Best of luck.

Also if trying to move your nem off the glass- you need to seal the ice cubes in a ziploc bag and touch the nems foot, not the other side of the glass or even the glass near the nem, it needs to make the foot uncomfortable enough to move. It does work but some times takes until the ice is pretty much melted before it moves. Just let it be and leave him alone, hell defy you and rebel against you going right back to his favorite spot.

Timers my friend timers- put your lights on timers, set them and let them do the work for you, that way theres no forgetting to turn on or off any lights.

Thanks Joe and Jimmy ... I'm not even going to mess with the anemone sine my tomato clown started hosting, I don't want to bother it, it's just going to be hard to do a water change with the anemone up there lolz

As for the lights I'm going to do exactly what you said Jimmy :). I was doing something like that but with much more time of day.. But the 8hrs sound alot better .

Nice reefbrites are nice, I like them a lot.

Thats what the forum is here for so we can all help each other out.

Don't be surprised when the nem drops off the glass when the water level drops lol. Itll go to wherever its happy again after. Im curious to see where it goes to next time lol.

Take care.....Jimmy

I had my nem up on the corner of the glass before and I did a water change which took it out of the water, now it's staying at the bottom and is enjoying the area.
