after 3 hours of metal halide lights on

after 4.5 hours of metal halide lights on

What you are seeing is rather common in our tanks..it's nothing more than photosynthsis..The algae on your rock (not saying your tank is loaded with algae! But even a very fine layer of fuzziness on a rock is often algae) is absorbing carbon dioxide, converting it into sugar (so it can eat & multiply) and releasing oxygen as a waste product of that function. (that is a very basis description!).
The bubbles you see are oxygen.
You will see them only when your lighting is on and at night they will dissapate..and then the cycle starts all over again when the sun (your MH) comes on :)

I noticed once the water level gets low in my return chamber, the DT gets alot of bubbles. Also the return pump starts to make alot of noise. Once I add more water everything is fine. Since I'm not a plumber, what can this be? Do I have anything wrong with my return pipe or return pump (mag 7)?

No, nothing wrong with the type of pump.
If you have been topping off your tank on a daily basis, then it sounds like the baffle before the return pump is too low.
You may need to increase the height of the baffle so there is not such a fine line between being even just slightly low on top off and having enough water for the pump to function without sucking in air.

A pic would definitely confirm this.

Do you have a mark on your sump where it should be filled to - as a guide?

the skimmer is sitting on base rock. the reason why is because the manual said to have the water level at 8.5" inches. Otherwise the water level is too high. I haven't got the macro algae yet for the second chamber. What do you suggest?

I would rebuild the sump for the skimmers water level, this way you don't have to prop it up, whats happening is the output side of the skimmer is creating waves and you are loosing water. look at your stands back wall it looks wet, this is very dangerous the wood could buckle
