Im looking to pick up 2 pairs of ora Clowns soon, and I was curious too see if they will host anemone's, Ive heard in the past that tank bread clowns have a lower chance of hosting anemone's. Anyone have expirience with the ORA clowns?

Tank bred clowns host anemone just as much as the wild caught.

Most, if not all, of my own tank bred clowns(platinum, onyx, b/w, semi snowflake, Ocs, skunk...) host anemones, corals, and yes algae bushes (well, powerheads too) all the time.

Hello, Matt L. here, originally from the Boston Reefers. I confess I haven't posted much in the 9 months since I moved here. That said...

If the clowns do not host right away, do not despair.

As the pair reaches sexual maturity and begin to spawn, the hosting instinct will become stronger.

I have owned many pairs of clowns over the years. I have even bred several, including my current pair of wild caught True Percula clowns.

That said, I believe the choice of anemone matters.

I have found clown pairs to begin hosting much more quickly in some BTA color morphs than in others. For example, I have found clowns to be slower to take to rose BTAs than green BTAs, and the color morph of BTA I presently keep to have the most success, both in my tank and in others.
