snail lokking thing?

I just saw some soft body invert in my tank crawl up a rock and spit out yellow colored round things in clusters. Does anyone know what this could be? It is about the size of a pinky finger nail and gray. At fist i thought it was a snail with out its shell but it moved in a different motion. I'll try to get a pic.
