Custom Wood Stand Price

Hey whats up reefers i was wonder how much money did everyone spend on there custom wood stand for there tanks and type of gallon tank too?

I think I spent about $200-350. that included a mitre saw rental and some hand tools that I needed for the job. The stand was for a 36"x18" 40G Breeder tank. There are pics of it in my tank thread. the link is below in my sig.

Really so far i have spend 200-400 just on wood n tools that i needed. This is only 55g that i have too. Im still not finished with it also.

I may be a little conservative on my price, but I defi didn't go over $500. What else do you have to buy? What tools did you need? I only needed a t square and a few drill bits and such. I didn't buy any heavy duty tools.

I have the tools. Just got to paint the stand add doors then thats where all the piping starts to come then wiring.

gotcha. So you're not too far off from the finished product. I suppose the final cost will depend how in depth you are going with the extras like wiring and plumbing. overall, they shouldn't be too bad as far as cost. I went with a stain for my stand rather than paint.

Yea i will paint it white since the tank is a divider from the living room to kitchen room. Check my post its should say 55 g wall stand part 3.

I have spent around $500 so far but that included a three bit router bit set for making raised panel doors but I am getting exactly what I want. Here is my upgrade thread, I am still working on it.

Yes, I used the standard RC plan but I used 2 x 6's for the top frame.

Really 2x6 first timei hear of those numbers on a piece of wood lol since im use to hearing 2x4's

Heavier loads and longer runs require bigger dimensional lumber because of its smaller angle of deflection (doesn't bend as much).

i built a stand and hood for a 120G out of oak veneer and stained it a few years back. It ran about $500 it also included the hardware.
As for the structure i used 2x4 and plywood, i then used the oak panels.

On my 180 with wood, varnish marine grade, silicone, screws, and hinges it came to around $350. I had all the tools or borrowed them.

Also my stand is higher than the norm. It is 72 x 24 x 44, the extra height is awesome in that I can have a larger skimmer and more space to work in all around.

Yea its better to make a custom stand higher then normal stand u have more access to your stand.
