High Powered LED Lighting System
The intent of designing and building this light is to offer an affordable alternative for LED lighting that will allow hobbyist see a return on their investment measured in months instead of years. Ecoray has custom features designed specifically for Naxandra including high power LED, all aluminum casing, light boards and fan. The spacing and angle of the lenses was altered to best light up standard aquarium sizes for most reef denizens. By engineering certain components of the system the overall lighting area was increased while using the same wattage. Also the spotlight affect has been reduced to replicate a more natural spread of light, while still inducing glimmer lines.

Brighter than Metal Halide, 600+ PAR in center at 24"
PAR Value at center is more than double that of 250W Metal Halide HQI. However, the light spread is narrower. For best results, we recommend one Ecoray 60 for approximately 26" x 18" area. Do not be confused with many low power LED units in the market claiming large coverage area for similar wattage, these units generally produce 40-50 PAR at 24" (on tenth the PAR of Ecoray 112). These low power LED units are more suitable as T-5 replacements.

Up to 100 lumens per watt
High Power 1 Watt LED produced up to 100 lumers per watt. We have intentionally selected the High Power 1 Watt over the 3 watts LED as they are much more efficient and save more energy.
Generates very little heat
You can touch the glass underneath while Ecoray 60 is operating. Try doing that with Metal Halide.
Save 50% energy while getting higher intensity
You can expect to save at least 50% energy over 250 W Metal Halide setups while getting higher intensity. Generally, replace one 250 W Metal halide with two Ecoray 60.
Eliminate yearly Metal Halide bulb replacement + cooling costs
Metal Halide requires bulb replacements every 9 to 12 months at a cost of $60 to $80 per bulb. LED has a life expectancy of up to 50,000 hours. Additionally, due to the intense heat generated by Metal Halide units, a separate cooling system is usually required that consumes lots of energy.
Compact, Light Weight and Simple
Dual 12 ft electric cords comes out from the unit (see dimensions below). There is no separate and heavy ballast box. There is no on/off switch. Simply connect it to your own timer, then to the electrical outlet and enjoy.
