i think you're going to have a hard time finding some one to pay $800 for a large duncan colony, even at less than $8 a head. It probably would be best to frag it into pieces and sell it that way.
1+i think you're going to have a hard time finding some one to pay $800 for a large duncan colony, even at less than $8 a head. It probably would be best to frag it into pieces and sell it that way.
I don't understand MR sometimes.....Just because this coral isn't a "Tyree" or a "Jason Fox" or "Cornbread" it looses it's value. Just because its not a "Limited Edition - Super Duper Ultra Rad Tad Duncan" it apparently isn't worth the water it's in ??.... If I had something bigger than a RSM 130 I'd consider it but I'm already stocked to the rim lol .... GLWS - Admittedly you could drop the price a little...like 7 a head but beyond that would be giving it away since stores charge 15/16ish
As the seller I have no problem saying I understand what you're saying, however I just don't agree.
As for 10-15 a head at 3 to 4 heads... i've personally seen in stores and privately 10 - 15 a head all the way up to 20 heads.
This particular colony was originally bought at 10 heads for 25 a head... that's when duncans first made their explosion into the market. when people were labeling them "Australian" to jack the price up - to my understand all duncans come from Australia I may be wrong in this statement but i've heard it from more than source in more than one region of the country....so the labeling of "Australian" is null and void...
Regardles I'm recognizing that it's big colony and trying to be fair by putting a reduced price compared to your "store" 10-15 and putting it at 8...which on the high end is nearly half and on the low end is still 20% off "store" price.
Also I would like to point out that I did say I was negotiable on the price.... i'm not trying to make this a side business OR a get rich quick sale...like many others i've seen along the way on various forums. Just looking for a legitimate offer.
As for you buying colonies for the prices you have...thats fantastic and I sincerely congratulate you on finding such an great deal. Deals come by from time to time when people don't know the value...or looking to just dump whatever coral they have...or want to share the hobby at an very very cheap price because money is of no object (sadly this one is not me)....anyways my point is people do insanely amazing deals for a number of reasons. This isn't one of those "give away for nothing" sales.![]()
I'm sorry if this offends anyone who reads this...it's not my intention to offend anyone...but i think less than 8 (although its not much less) is a fair starting ground for a sale.
furthermore I just want to say that I absolutely appreciate the PM's with both sales advice and support.
OK... so i wrote all that prior to reading Brunoboarder's post....
I get that some people here don't have a lot of money...trust me...i am in no way claiming to be someone with a bottomless pocket...i'm right there with the everyone else looking to claim they found the best buy in the world...or just a really great deal.
I simply posted on here as a possible way to sell this piece
once again i want to say it's not that i dont appreciate all the advice and support....i definitely do.
I appreciate it you clearing that up...i'm certainly not taking offense...just somewhat feel like i'm on trial lol
I am open to cutting it up into smaller "mini colonies" if the interest is there.
Just figured i'd offer it as a whole first due to the beauty (for lack of a better word) of a colony mature enough to grow to this size instead of some small frag
Once again if anyone has read this far and they are interested in a frag of it...please pm with amount of heads and a legitimate offer.
If there is no interest in the 2 approx 55 head colonies I am willing to cut down to approx 25+ heads, but I really want to avoid cutting smaller than that.
Thanks
