Yes it would be ok for a 55 fish only tank, it is rated for a 180 gallons (honestly I would not recommend it for 180), fish only tanks do not require much skimming so it would be good for you. I have used it on my 75 G, and even when I added my sump (25 G more water)...it's still in use so it works, I'll be doing a break down this saturday....PM'ed you.

lets say im selling something and one guy says ill take it and posts it and another guy pms me but does not post and a friend tells me they want it. we dont know about the friend or the pm so its fair that the first person that writes on the post gets it so everybody knows and its more fair that way. The reason i fight it because it happen to me i was first dibbs and the seller sold it to a friend so i lost out.
