Some tips on feeding:
I used to go to Pelham bay and catch thousands of glass shrimp by passing a fine net over rocks covered in algae. I kept my tank pretty well planted and I would keep it well stocked with glass shrimp. The seahorses loved it- they eat to their hearts content. If you keep a small 5gallon tank with glass shrimp going, just be sure you feed the glass shrimp something very nutritious like Spirulina soaked in selcon.
I am sure you can also buy live cold water pods these days pretty easily. I have even seen live mysis available. When I bred seahorses my goal was to keep a live food culture running- it was just easier in the long run (I never had to worry about going away on vacation).
