I have a Marineland SOS overflow for sale. Im asking $40.00 or a comparable trade but no SPS.

I was checking the specs on it and it says it's meant for a 40 gallon or larger tank... will it be ok on a 33? I don't have a sump yet either... should I get one or the other first or does it matter?
