I need to get this stuff out of my house. So, here's what I got with a suggested price after it, make a decent offer and I'll probably sell it to make some room! Trades of frags/LPS corals accepted as part of the cash. (we'll barter!)

2x96w PC black abs, 36" long. One circuit (one switch controls both) one 10 k bulb, one blue. ($100)

Blueline Tsunami wave maker. ($100)

10 gallon hood, Matches my Ikea desk(I'd sell it too I think). Oak, and a redish-orange stain.Free. come and get it. If you've got a macro I don't have, I'd take a trade.

10 gallon hood with 2x32w pc. Yeah, I'm still pimpin this hood.

Fedders 11,000 BTU AC unit. In window/wall It's big, and it runs on 110. But it kept my whole apartment cool before. My new apt has bars on the windows, so I can't use it. ($250, but I really need it out of my house) Chill your tank and reap the benefits as well!

Thanks
BC

Fresh Fish, Welcome to MR!

I recommend getting a bigger tank than a 10 for your first reef. There's lots of things that could go wrong and if you've only got 10 gallons, problems seem to magnify (like simple salinity swings.)

Have you had fish before? What's your budget? What animals do you plan on keeping?

I've got a 10 gal hood I could give you. It was on my first reef tank. It's not in the best shape, but it's okay. No lights either.

Welcome aboard, do some research and figure out what's going into your tank!

Yes I understand bigger is easier but space and funds are only for 10g. I want only LS and LR. No crazy corals or fish. Just want to start with basics. I was under the impression you were trying to sell a 10g hood w/ 2x32w guess I read wrong.

Fresh, why not try out some softies if you can get a little light over the tank and when the tank is ready. Like mushrooms and polyps. Just the easier stuff. If you stay fishless(could get a small fish or two) and do weekly water changes(maybe like 15%-20%)from what I've seen you'll have a nice tank. Maybe throw in a HOB fuge and your good to go and you'll have a nice system for soft corals. That 2x 32watt over a 10g would be great too. Just something to think about.

I am sure down the road a few polyps will be purchased. For now I want to get a good reef with alot of coraline. Any suggestions for max coraline growth and color?

freshfish~ i started with a 10 gallon as well. but bc is right about it being tough. it can be done though, just not recommended. when i got into the hobby i figured, if i could keep the 10 alive and have no losses for at least 6 motnhs, and things were thriving then i would upgrade, and so i did, now have a 36 and a 29 both reef tanks :D

Oh, Fresh, I completely missed that you wanted to buy the 10 Hood with the pc's!

That was from when I had the 10 with the 2x32 setup. If you keep up with water changes, you can keep lots of softies in a 10!

Check your pm's!

Can you please tell me exactly what comes with the hood and the size of it? Is the fuge light and all bulbs and ballasts included? I would like an open top tank. I was looking at purchasing Orbit or Satelite duals. But will the closed hood help or hurt water evap?
