Hey All -

First I want to thank everyone who has helped me with getting ready for my move. This is the last system I have to sell before the big move so hopefully it goes pretty quick.

Thanks

Joe

I've got a Red Sea Max 250C at this point approx 7 months since purchase

The glass is clean - no scratches that I have found and I am very meticulous when it comes to those things.

1650 where I am starting but I am open to trade/cash deals also.

Tank and Stand Only - If rock is wanted something can be worked out but it is not included in the original price

and due to the high interest for the rocks - whole package - Tank, Stand, Rocks as shown - 1800 or best offer

I understand it comes across as high to some - I apologize for that - but I need to compensate for those who may low ball me

Also open to cash/coral offers

. just wondering if i missed something when i googled it. not an expert on tanks, so was wondering, but yes personally for me, its too high. if something is 2000 new, i would pay around 1200 . but just my opinion. don't mean to insult you.

no an insult at all - not to worry - the way I see it is as follows

New is 2000$

This tank isn't new but it's less than a year old, with that being said the glass is in excellent condition and it's also coming with live rock from tank that's been established for 8 years so it's got a good amount of beneficial bacteria on it.

some people who love this hobby don't have an extra 2000 to drop on a system plus the additional expense of live rock that some stores charge upwards of 6$ and 7$ a pound for - now I know there is more than 60 lbs of rock - infact i'd say there is closer to 85/100 lbs of rock in here currently - so at 6 or 7 dollars a pound that's 600 to 700 right there

now okay okay, not everyone wants live rock from the start - no problem so I looked at marcorocks.com and found that the 100 lb box is 215 dollars - so 215 on top of my 1650 brings it to 1865 - however I am asking 1800 and you are getting the additional benefit of live beneficial bacteria.

Even at 50lbs of dry rock from marcorocks it is still an extra 110$ so that brings it to 1760 which is only 40$ less from what I'm asking with rock and you are still getting the benefit of beneficial bacteria.

NOT to mention on top of all of this I know people have a tendency to want to negotiate down - which is understandable providing they are being reasonable - so I factored that in as well when posting the prices initially.

hopefully my thought process and pricing isn't offensive to anyone but I am going off the logic that I will be haggled down and that benefits of buying this particular used system.

now lets say someone doesn't want the rock at all then it's 1650 which is 350 off the brand new price which is just under 18% off a brand new price which I think is fair

with your suggestion of 1200 that's roughly 40% off which in my opinion I too big of a hit for a tank in this condition less than a year old.

again hopefully nobody gets offended and/or insulted by this logic.

No you spoke professionally and had reason behind it. I totally understand your point and bet you took good care of this tank. Good luck with your sale. Maybe next time you sell something I will be buying it from you
