I think not being able to use a tank that had copper in it is a myth myself.

I have never heard of glass absorbing copper, the silicone, I'm not so sure of. If copper is absorbed by the silicone, it is not a renewable source. So if you treat a tank with copper and then you use a media to remove it and some is still in the silicone and is able to leach out, it would only make sense that through water changes the copper stored in the silicone or even the glass (if you believe it can store it) would eventually be removed.

I can personally attest to that myth

I have a 90g, that started as a fish only back in 1987. The tank has been coppered more times than I can count with my fingers and it is now currently running in my office with RBTA, Yumas, Shrooms etc.
