I think that my 120 was made there, is that the store on Utica Ave? their hallmark is to seal the top so that no salt leaks over the side.

When you look at the tank check to see if it is braced across the bottom of the tank, i.e. cross braces. Also, check the silicon seals visually.

World class has been there for a long time. At one time they were known for the custom tanks they put together. A friend of mine had a huge tank put together by them and never had a complaint. (I couldnt say much about the live stock, However I havent been there in about a year)

World Class Aquarium has been making tank for along time, since they opened in and around the late 80's. Before that the people who made the tanks used to work at Mark's Aquarium, which was on Utica Ave and then 1000 Island bought them out. Actually one of the owners World Class Aquarium was the brother of the owner of Mark Aquarium.

I purchased 3 tanks for Mark's Aquarium, 135,160 and 300 and all the tank were well made and I had no problems for years with them.

One of the people who use to make tank for World Class Aquarium went into business for himself and made wholesale tank for reptiles, fish and lobster tanks.

When I lived in brooklyn I use to go to World Class Aquariums alot and the thing I didn't like about them was the owners weren't the nices people around.

i looked into them building me a custom tank stand and canopy as well (187 gallon - 60"x24"x30"). One thing i didnt like by their tanks is the way the return comes out from the front floor of the tank, but he said he can build a regular return in the overflow if i wanted. i went to fish expo to price out how much they can get me the same tank for, and i ended up doing it through them. They got me the custom tank built by Oceanic with their signature stand and canopy and installed it with plumbing and everything for pretty much the same price as World Class. In my opinion, i would go with Oceanic over World Class anyday as their reputation and work is among the best in the industry. to top it off of course, the people at Fish Expo are MUCH nicer than those as World Class (who seem to be a little more harsh for some reason). I have since gotten quite friendly with the staff at Fish Expo and they know me by name and know everything about my set-up (because they set it up). the only downside to fish expo at the time was that they were not very knowledgable about setting up reef tanks at the time, so i did all the research and just told them exactly what i wanted. i would guess that since then they would have learned a bit more from all the setups they have done. they also opened up a "showroom" on the second floor of their store. If you have any questions or want to see my tank, PM me.

I don't have experience with their custom tanks but I go there for everything else and I haven't had any problems. On the other hand fish expo just opened recently and they seem to be out for the buck more than actually helping.

I work 1 block from World Class & had popped in from time to time. You guys are right about the tudes (major attitude that is), don't know what it's about those guys?

Anyway, to sup it all up...their corals are among the worst & are at the highest prices. I have seen them trying to sell macros at 30-40 smacks. Their fish are pretty colorful & healthy, but again prices are higher than fishtown.

It's a shame that I work 1 block away & find it hard to step foot in the door. Had I been near fishtown I would stop by every week!

But than again that's just me!

I have all of my tanks built by world class....Excellent tanks...!!! I am personal friends with the Guy (Ron) who actually builds them...As for their design of putting 2 of the returns in the lower front corners of the tank facing the back of the tank it IS INGENIOUS!!!! Best thing i ever did with my tank....It gives unique water flow and keeps organics and particulates in suspension LONGER than most peoples tanks....Most everyone only has good circulation near the top of the tank...(they see their water ripple on the suface and they think they have good flow) However all or most of the lower portions of the tank are barely brisk at all...Dont knock it till you try it I say...And I have tried it and ended up doing it on all of my tanks....I would never do it any other way after using this design....Mine are linked to a closed loop with an oceans motions 4 Way....By having the outlets facing up from the bottom of the tank it not only moves water from the lower regions but it keeps particles up in the water column..The traditional way of having all the outlets on the top of the tank just drives particles into the sand bed(if you use one) instead of into the overflow box for the skimmer and other filters to remove....It really is a unique concept....when you really think about it...

I previously gave a good report on World Class but I called them yesterday for a 5lb miracle mud and they wanted to charge me 90 dallors and everywhere else was $50 what a rip off. I had my husband call back to make she I wasn;t wrong and they told him the same amount
