Both links sell 20Lb bags, but this is just Decorative Black Sand. It's not 'Live'

I may just place an order, and mix in a little bit of my existing sand. I'd add this mix in the bottom of the tank and cover with clean black sand...

To answer your question: I do not believe there is a arragonite black sand. I have seen a 'salt and pepper' version which is 'mixed'

Be careful with the live black sand, volcanic variety. It hosts a type of fungus that attacks the skin. Not painful, but discolors the skin. Cannot be gotten rid of. I know from personal experience. Just a warning.

Chris (reef fantasy): Are you saying Carib Sea makes a Live & NonLive vrs. of the Black sand? Do you carry both?

Spyro: Skin attacking fungus!! Yikes, I had no idea... what color are the patches? I take it you still have the discolorations???

Bottom line, I guess I should buy the NonLive black sand. It's volcanic too, but hopefully doesn't house this fungus

it attacks the skin and creates white and red blotches. They usually fade away but reapear when your skin gets dry or during the summer, when you're in the sun.
