Were these lights an overkill on your tank?? I'm looking for MH ficture for my 46 bow but everyone keep telling me that 2X250 is way too much light for my tank. How was the Temperature when you had them? Can I see pics of your tank under the lights?
$400 for the fixture. Has 2 phoenix 14k bulbs touching 12 months old and one of the t5 bulbs is about 6 months old and the other is brand new not even installed yet.
Not sure if you can swap out for the lower wattage bulbs. I don't think 250W is overkill for any tank unless it's a nano. I used this unit on a 46 gallon with great success. As long as you slowly acclimate your corals to light this intense they would be fine. I did this acclimation by placing the light high and putting a few layers of window screening over the tank. Over the course of 2 weeks I slowly lowered the light and also removed some screening until it was in it's final resting place.
