wow I feel your pain, its exteremly difficult to swallow a loss of that size. The hobby brings me a lot of happiness and family fun, Ive had set backs also (small) losses but I continue to push foward. I would clean all the equipment up and store it for 6 months till you get back in the right frame of mind and re-build it better than ever. Your tank was awesume and for someone that into it it will never go away. Stay with it Jim Its a great hobby and learning experience.

Hi Bill,
I still cant exhale --------------------------

I changed 150 gallons of water, tank is running, skimmer has been working overtime. MH lights are off for now- just running on aticincs to let the remaining fish know they have been saved.

there you go, some ray of hope. small step toward normalcy.
Elisabeth K?bler-Ross, M.D.missed a step in the grief process:

DENIAL<-->
ANGER<--> BARGAINING<--> DEPRESSION<--> ACCEPTANCE----->>>---->>>>NORMALCY (unfortunaletly for reefers, normalcy is obsession....lol...lol)

Sorry for your loss....as said before all of us here have suffered some kind of loss....some small some large... take a step back and remember what got you into this hobby(obbsesion) and think of all of those good memories before you decide to exit. Good luck with your decision and if you do start it up again I have a sweet rbta that I can donate to your tank.(I would like to extend this out to Nyreefnoob as well)...

Best of luck

You might want to consider the reactor I recently purchased to keep orp up and oxygen levels at or very near 100%.. This is my tank crash from low oxygen levels insurance.. I'm sure you know that as the tanks temp increases the oxygen disssolves out of the water.. With this reactor you oxygen levels will always be high enough to keep fish breathing.. I don't know how to link threads but my thread is introducing my new toy that all of us can benifit from..

JIM, as a founding father of the Katonah Aquarium Society (not true, no such thing) and having captive fish in Katonah for over 50 years (true), I want to welcome your reef ...HOME ...and will be happy to offer whatever frags/help that I can, just let me know! Alfie

Alfie, I am on 117 from time to time, and have seen your cool rod crusing by in the past. Not too many of those around, so I am guessing it was you.
By the way, could I visit you sometime to check out your system. I too have a Titan sump (lots off room to work with)

When you are ready to make the move I would be glad to help. Don't have much I can frag but whatever I do you are welcome to.

PS maybe you should bet the Mods to take this out of the FS thread and start a "new beginning" thread.
