They dont require much space at all. That tank you have empty would be sufficient for them. They can take high flows though. If you go on melevsreef he just put together a pic tank with a seahorse and on nanoreef there is a guy named tigahboy who set up a tank with acans and blastos and a pair of seahorses. He also has videos. Really nice!!

I only replied after I saw not many people have a system that they are not sure they will live in.

I don't know how they would do with the 2 pairs I have.
Mabey too much comp for the pods.
I know they would breed but no offspring would live, I'm not set up for that.

jhale, you don't need a big tank, a small tank plumbed to a main tank or a fuge is the best. The don't like flow but do need to have a large volume of clean water. The hardest part is you have to train them to eat on Que. otherwise you will have to spend too much time feeding them a few times a day, this can cause the water conditions to deteriorate, hanse the large volume needed.
